Dear Ms. Sofia,
You've taught me a lot of new things about singing, and I thank you for that. But most of all you've helped me to come out of my shell. (Danica, 14 y. old)
"I took vocal lessons from Sofia for a year and I always looked forward to attend my classes. Sofia focuses not only on vocal techniques but also on musicianship. She explores areas of dynamics, pitch accuracy, and rhythmic accuracy. I was able to expand my vocal range as well as rise as a better soprano. Along with classical singing, she also coached me with Broadway and Pop music. Sofia is a talented singer and a very helpful and inspiring vocal coach. Thanks for always being dedicated and patient with me. " (Aditi, 17 y. old)
"Sofia is gifted as a singer and a teacher; she possesses a great talent for both with a discerning diagnostic ear. I have the pleasure to be one of her students, I believe singing is about an "enjoyable" way of communicating with people and expressing ourselves; I have enjoyed her sessions and was always waiting impatiently for the “next one”. She has a wonderful way of connecting with her students, both young and old thanks to her patience and supportive attitude.
She has a great passion and patience to listen to every sound and takes great care to describe simply where I am at and where I want to go.
I would highly recommend her as a vocal teacher; her vocal and teaching talent is exceptional.
Thank you Sofia! Emad"
"Sofia is a great singing teacher. My singing voice drastically improved just within a few sessions. She helped me gain confidence hitting higher notes. She is excellent at teaching proper breathing techniques and helped me find my true voice. I would recommend Sofia to anyone at any level in singing. “ (Nidhi, university student)
I am not a singer or playing any instrument. However, I was planning to sing a song for the special occasion (my wedding). Incidentally I found Sofia and never was disappointed.
She is professional, caring and very easy going. After taking classes with Sofia I understood much more about singing even without musical education. Finally, I recorded my song and was very happy with the results. Thank you Sofia for your help and support! (Kateryna, adult)
As a musician and a music teacher one never stops learning. Although I have been singing for more than 20 years and teaching for over 7 - every day I learn something new: a new song, new interpretation of an old song, new technique, new layer of understanding of the long-known text, new way of explaining a well- known technique, or new ways of polishing vocal mastery. This ability of limitless growth is what I love about music and what I try to pass to my students together with all the technical aspects described earlier.
Each student has his/her own needs and goals and each one learns differently, so I try to explain the same fundamentals in a way and at a pace suitable for each particular student.
Singing is fun, everyone knows that. Not everyone knows, though, how much practice is hidden behind each song performed on stage. To become a good musician one must be patient, work hard, and love music with all his/her heart and than the joy that comes from small and large accomplishments and achievements and from music making itself will surpass all expectations!
A good teacher must be:
2) fun - to make the learning process interesting
3) disciplined- to keep the progress steady
4) encouraging - to celebrate every student's success
